Also, I have the issue where if I add an article or two, I have to save it, and then refresh the screen to be able to continue editing posts in arlima manage list. I can click on the list box article, but nothing happens until I refresh my screen. Both of these issues have increased since Arlima’s latest update.

After talking with some colleagues at one of our newspapers that is running the latest version of WordPress it has become clear that we have performance issues in the list manager. I’m not totally sure if this is what’s causing you problems, it might be. We will look into this asap. I’ll get back to you when I know more.

Thanks Vic. Talking about the list function, I think it’s kind of harder when you have a number of articles that exceeds the restricted article box. It’s a little tricky to add articles once the box is full from top to bottom. Messing with it you can eventually add on top of the bottom, but can’t see them to delete or update. Not complaining because my article page live online is starting to look really professional as I learn the in and outs.

Yes, that’s another issue that we haven’t been able to solve yet. When having a lot of articles in the list is you have to put the new article some where in the top of the list (above the tenth article or something). After that you can drag the article downwards in the list more easily. Don’t know if this explanation was any good… We will of course try to solve this issue as well but so far it has proven to be a difficult task.

Please get back to us if the new version of Arlima won’t solve the problems!

Will do Vic. In a little while I will be updating my articles and then see what it does. What does clicking on the Admin box at the bottom of the content when you edit a post on the right side do? I have used it but can’t really see what is intended. The only other problem I experienced, unless it is fixed now, is that a lot of times I have to go back several times to hard code the external URL rather than use my internal post URL. I know it keeps them on my site but it’s a 2 click process where it could be a 1 click process from my article list front page. Sometimes it’s a lot of work to get it to stay with the external URL cause it will go back to the internal URL in Arlima.

The “Admin Lock” (point 15 in https://github.com/victorjonsson/Arlima/wiki/Interface-walkthrough ) makes it possible for administrators to “lock down” the article. This means that no other user can edit the article unless they’re also administrators. This feature is used when having several people (editors) that’s publishing content on your website and you as a website owner or administrator want to make sure that they won’t tamper with a certain article. In that case you would go in and “lock down” the article. The lock is only applied to the Arlima article, the post that the article is connected to will still be possible to edit.

The problem you described should be fixed in the latest release.

Ok Vic, I added a post, published it, after I went to click on another article in item 18 and it hangs up. Won’t allow me to select any posts now. I can refresh the URL and then am able to select a post, but then the same issue occurs again.

Okey, I’m starting to suspect that this is not related to Arlima. I would suggest that you deactivate all plugins except arlima and see if you still have the same problem. Visiting you website you can find javascript-errors occurring that is not related to arlima…

Vic, what plugin or technique can I use to see what java script errors there are and where? I can get right on it.

Or you can just post the Codex article on enabling the Javascript console on your browser.

It’s very well written and even has pictures. ??

It’s one of the things listed on the 3.5 Master List.

Jan, I did attempt to follow the instructions, but it’s too difficult for me as I am afraid I might mess up my core files. Is there a simpler one-step process to identify and then correct errors?

Geez, I knew it would happen. Now after messing around trying to do the javascript fix, I lost my Article List Page list. Finally, unable to recover it and then deactivating, deleting, and then reinstalling Arlima plugin, I still can’t create a arlima list. I went to edit lists and created the article list page list but when I go to manage lists, I select the only option, Article List Page and then click add and nothing happens. I can’t get a list to open up to recreate my previous list. Subsequently I ran my WP restore dated 01/04/2013 and have the same problem. Any ideas?

What I meant you should do was to deactive all plugins except arlima and look if you still have the same problems

Sorry Vic, but it’s too late now. I would have thought that after the restore, it would have at least restored to when it last was working correctly and backed up on 01/04/2013. I created a list titled “Article List Page” but clicking the “Add” button in the list manager doesn’t do anything. It should open up a list box to add content but it won’t insert the list box. What should I do? I don’t know what else to do.
