    Hi,

I don’t know since when it stopped working.
Currently I run WP 4.9.6 and plugin 6.4.2

When I try to edit a form, I see this:

    View post on imgur.com

for the form builder, for the form settings and for the custom messages – all the same error line.

I disabled all my other plugins, but the error remains.

    – At “mailing lists” I see correctly my list.
    – The API key is correctly connected.
    – API cache is cleared.

The Debug said “Ressource not found”:

    View post on imgur.com

But my mailing list is correctly found and listed at “Mailing lists” setting of the plugin.

    Any idea please?
    thank you.

    Hi @csigncsign,

I don’t know what’s going on! I’ve seen this issue in the past when API keys are changed and transients aren’t cleaned up properly. If that’s the case, the issue usually resolves itself within an hour.

Is this still happening for you?

    Let me know.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

    Hey,
I am having the same problem and it’s been a few days now since it’s occured.
The fact is that I really need to check the custom settings… But all I can see is a blank page and this information “We’ve encountered an error. Reload the page and try again. If the error persists, please reach out to support.”

Is there any way to fix this problem or just backup the settings?

    Best Regards
    Krzysztof

    Hi Krzysztof,

I’m looking at the code again… I think this error could happen if any of the following are true…

    (1) Your sever is unable to communicate with MailChimp. If other parts of the plugin are working (like the Mailing Lists page) then this isn’t the problem.

    (2) You created your form using a different API key than you’re currently using (i.e. entered API key, created a form, switched the API key).

    (3) A failed MailChimp API call is stored in a transient (would clean itself up after an hour – or you could delete all transients either via a plugin or DB query).

    (4) You imported/exported your lists. (This feature isn’t used much so I’m guessing someone could encounter this error if they didn’t import/export their lists correctly).

If none of those are happening, then I don’t understand what’s causing the issue. Are you able to create new forms? Are you losing much if you recreate the form?

Let me know. A few other people have had this issue in the past and I haven’t been able to re-create it and I don’t understand why it’s occurring.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

    Hi @yikesitskevin

I imported forms using my theme importer and the same error comes up for me too where I can’t edit the imported forms,

    (@yikesitskevin)

    Hi @benprecious,

Your theme was able to import/export our Easy Forms data? What was the name of the theme importer?

I think your best bet is to delete the form and re-create it.

Hope that isn’t too much trouble.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

    Hi @yikesitskevin

Yes I was able to import the forms, the theme I’m using is called ‘The Gem’ and they have a plug-in called ‘The Gem Importer’ and you can import everything from their demo pages,

    Plugin Contributor yikesitskevin

    (@yikesitskevin)

Well if you can’t edit your form and you don’t think the issue is with the items I listed above, then I’m guessing there’s an issue with the Gem importer. I don’t know how that importer works. I would recommend using our built-in import/export tools (which can be found in the settings).

Ok sounds good, in that case, how can I get my forms to inherit the theme’s style? @yikesitskevin

    Plugin Contributor yikesitskevin

    (@yikesitskevin)

Can you send me the URL of your form so I can see? We have a way where you can exclude our styles but I’m not sure if that will work for you; I’m not sure if your theme will style our forms even when our styles are removed.

    Hey,
It seems that the problem occurs because of new API key…
How can you help to recover the data I lost?

    Plugin Contributor yikesitskevin

    (@yikesitskevin)

    Hi @krzyrztow

    What data did you lose?

    Hello,
custom settings for 2 forms ??

    Plugin Contributor yikesitskevin

    (@yikesitskevin)

    Hi @krzyrztow,

    I’m sorry ??

Did you create the lists using a different API key? If you created the lists using a different API key then there’s no way to recover the data. Again, sorry about that. Our plugin ties everything to an API key.

    All the best,
    Kevin.

Hmm, what if I use the old API key. Is there any chance to recover the data?

    Plugin Contributor yikesitskevin

    (@yikesitskevin)

If you use the old API key you should be able to see your data. However, there’s still no good way of transferring it from one API key to another. Everything in the plugin is tied to API keys. This is an issue with the plugin but to be honest it’s a difficult thing to change.
