I think that I want to do a relatively simple thing. I just stated a blog with Yahoo Small Business Web Hosting and with WordPress as my publishing tool. I want to either upload or cut and paste my resume from MS-Word into my blog as a page, but if I merely copy and paste using the IE 7 browser edit menu, I partly lose control of the formatting. The FAQ page “What do all the icons mean?” shows formatting tools under “Extra Tools,” but if I do Write, Write Page, the edit dialog box shows only tools up to the Help Icon. Where are the rest of them? Do I have to pay extra or something?

Also if I click on the help icon in the toolbar, all I’m told is that cut and paste doesn’t work well with some browsers. You’re kidding right?

I am publishing this blog to attract potential employers and customers, so everything has to look just right.

    Please Help.

  • everything has to look just right.

Then don’t ever use any MS product on the web.
There used to be a plugin for copy/pasting from Word, it may work with these newer WP versions. You will have to search for it.

Otherwise all the advice you will get here: do not copy from Word and paste it into the wysiwyg editor. You will never attract anybody to your site by doing that. Sorry.

Edit. You may want to try if this plugin works with your WP version:

(although it won’t solve the bad code from copy/pasting)
