• Hello. I apologize in advance if this sounds silly/ridiculously simple to fix!!:

I am trying to “claim my blog” on Bloglovin but apparently there is a bit of code at the footer credit that is keeping the website from recognizing my blog.

I want to know how I can edit the footer in the Suits Theme; I don’t want to remove the credits or anything, I just need help removing a part of the credit link tag:

    <a href="https://www.themeweaver.net/" title="Theme Developer" rel="designer">Theme Weaver</a>

I want to get rid of the “designer” part. Is there a way to do that?

    Blog in question: adorkably.net

  • To protect your edits from future Suits theme updates, all you have to do is create a child theme.

With that set up and activated, copy the Suits theme’s footer.php file into the root of your new child theme. Then you can edit that file as you’d like. Any other changes you need to make in your theme, you’d continue to work inside of your child theme.
