• Hi,

I’m taking over a WordPress site someone else created. Admittedly, I’m a newbie and the creator if the site didn’t leave a lot of documentation.

What I’m trying to do is modify the existing site, such as the static info and images at the top and bottom of the pages. I’m guessing this is done by editing the Theme, but I don’t see how exactly to do so.

The site can be viewed at https://www.ipillustration.com and it uses the single try out images theme.

    Thanks in advance,

    david

  • You can edit the header.php and footer.php file by clicking Appearance -> Editor and selecting either file on the right side of the screen.

The files are probably a mix of php, html and javascript, so it really depends on what you want to edit.

    What does this mean

Ive been having problems with uploading themes onto my host. So I went to the Word Press website and downloaded zip files of the themes I wanted and then I uploaded them to my host. now I can open them to preview or edit them. I can activate them and I can see them in my list of themes but I cant access them at all. I just get the message above and I dont know how to fix it.
I am new to word press and to hosting and to web site development.

I’m not familiar with that error message but it looks like your yoko theme is requiring a file from the built-in wp theme twentyeleven.

Did you install the theme through the WP Admin or by placing the files directly onto the server? It might be worth it to start from scratch and upload the yoko theme through the WP Admin, then activate it from there.

You might be better served creating your own thread, however.
