Editing class-sp-install to amend the roles

Are you editing our plugin files directly?

The easiest way to edit this would be using a plugin such as the role scoper, so you don’t have to re-edit your files any time we update the plugin.

Basically I am making a 2k19 league website and we want it so team managers can submit their own game results for review. Its very confusing to do!

Are you saying I should download the plugin ‘Role Scoper’ then?

Also the role Team Manager is that a role who manages all the teams or just one team they are assigned to?

Hi @stimo,

The main concept is that you should NEVER edit any core files because you are gonna loose those changes at the very next update. Its the same concept with WordPress core files and even theme core files. That’s why there are so many plugins to help you “altering” how WordPress works and the child-themes for “altering” how parent theme works without loosing every change on every update.

Now for altering user permissions you can use a plugin like User Role Editor, WPFront User Role Editor, or whatever plugin you want from WordPress Plugin Directory.

If it is not an individual team which role manages just 1 individual team.

Unfortunately the Team Manager role is for all the teams. Currently we dont have the Feature to assign a Team Manager to a specific Team. Its a great idea though. Please post it on our Ideaboard for further discussion.
