Hi, I have same issue with custom editing, after plugin update as Orion Reve (@sahsg29) 2 weeks ago. We get the same error message: ‘Sorry, you are not allowed to edit posts as this user’, but if I give permission the edit others, everybody can see all posts, which we really don’t want. Could you help me, please?

    Versions, we use:
    WordPress 6.6.1
    PublishPress Capabilities 2.13.0
    PublishPress Permissions 4.0.26

    Thanks, Zolka

    Hi @zolka

    Thanks for using PublishPress Capabilities.

I just tested this and it works fine here. Can you confirm if it’s CPT or regular CPT?

    Thanks,

    Hi @rizaardiyanto

Oh, sorry, I just realized, it’s a PublishPress Permissions problem. May I open a new thread in the other forum or maybe you could answer me here?

    Thanks, Z.

@zolka We could resolve this in this thread. Can you please let me know more details, how did you find out it was PublishPress Permissions issue?

@rizaardiyanto My colleagues have tried to modify their profile, which is a CPT UI posttype, but they couldn’t save it, despite they have unique rights to manage it. This problem came up after update to 4.0.26. After downgrade it to 4.0.23, it’s working again.

@zolka Please elaborate more on your setup. You have post typef rom CPT UI, which is “Profile” and one of your user couldn’t update it.

Can you please screenshot the error? Also screenshot the permissions and capabilities that those role has.

    Thanks,

    @rizaardiyanto

I’ve made printscreens of permissions and capabilities, but couldn’t do about the error message, because I’ve already downgraded the plugin. It was only a text message, nothing else as I remember: ‘Sorry, you are not allowed to edit posts as this user’.

    I hope this helps!

@zolka From your screenshot, that user should be able to edit it. Nothing wrong from your configuration. Could you please test by deactivate all other plugins except our plugin to see if there is any plugin conflict?

    Thanks,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, please reply again here, or you can start a new thread.

    Thanks,
