Editing attachment captions in tinyMCE

  • Hello guys,

    I want to build a template file for attachments. In this case I’m trying to show attachment captions in single view also. Normally this is no problem and the caption can be showing with the_excerpt(), but I’ve found out if I edit the caption in the tinyMCE popup the caption would not be saved as post_excerpt in the post object.

    I’ve searched now for a few hours about this problem and cannot find any solution for this. How can I find the caption which is saved in the tinyMCE popup.
    This make me really confused cause the caption is saved in this popup and would be shown in articles single page with caption shortcode. I also try the caption shortcode in the attachment template with no result. Also disabling all plugins make no changes so I think this must be a core bug.
