editing a WP website

    I have been asked to help update a website that was created by someone else in WordPress. It is a simple site and only involves changing pictures and some text.

    My web building experience involves HTML, Kompozer and WinSCP, but I have access to all the PHP files, but not the admin user info (logon and password). I am new to working with PHP and WordPress, but have Drupal and WordPress 3.6.1 installed and FTP access to the web host.

    What is the best way to go about gaining admin access (previous admin info is unavailable) and editing the website? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
