Editing a Network's Root Domain – Will there be Issues?

  • I have a Network with 20 sites and I need to change the ‘root domain’ for the Network to another domain name. For example:

    * Current Network URL = https://www.domain.com
    * Change to this URL = https://www.hosting.com

    1. So if I go to “Edit Network”
    2. Change the domain to (hosting.com)
    3. And click on “Update Network”.

    Will there be any issues with the 20 Sites that are associated with it?

    I just do not want the entire network to go down along with the 20 sites associated with this network, and not be able to recover them.

    Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
