I was editing the function.php and got an error code. I hit back button and deleted the added code and tried updating. I still got the error code. After reading other threads I downloaded FileZilla and checked my function.php file. The code I added, then deleted was no longer there. So basically I tried just about everything I read. Including, deleting the function.php file. Then I deleted the themes. I cleared my cache and still can’t see anything but the dreaded 500! I am pretty new to all of this coding and would appreciate any help. And I’m also hoping I didn’t delete any important files while I got all “let’s do what they say in the forums” and got a little click happy.

Wow. I found it in my Weebly file. Finally figured out how to lookup my logs and it told me exactly where the error was.

Could you tell me how you did this? I’m having the exact same issue.

Go to your host site (I use fat cow). In the control panel there is a place to view error logs. It showed exactly where the error was located (file path and line number) I deleted the code that I added and that was it. Good luck!
