Edit/Customize Theme Not Working

  • I can log in and see the theme and some of the settings, but when I go to customize nothing loads up for me to edit. The loading pinwheel just keeps spinning. Also tried to install a new theme and the same problem occurs. I called iPage and they told me it’s something in the backend they can’t access.

    My domain is shawnmeunier.com, and I’m hosting it on iPage.com

  • Have you tried disabling all plugins? It could be caused by a plugin rather than the theme/wp.

    It might be worth contacting your web host and asking them to check it. We had a similar issue with a client once and the host made some changes to the server which fixed it. I believe it was to do with mod_sec or the PHP version.

    I disabled all plugins and I’m still not able to customize… just keeps spinning and none of my images or files appear… ??

    What should I ask my host to do?

    Hi Shawn,

    I would contact your host just asking pretty much the same as your original post here. They should be able to help since they have better access to the server logs etc, or at least point you in the right direction.

    They will probably ask you to try disabling all plugins and activate one of the default WP themes, e.g. twentyfifteen. Try this first, then you can tell them this in your message to them which should help.
