• What is the simplest way to add an editable region to the side bar of a template?

In summary I want to include an editable region for office hours in the side bar and have it show on every page.

Can I perhaps create a new page in the editor and then add a placeholder to the template’s sidebar? How would I stop this page being vsibile along with the other pages?

    Is there a better way?

    Hope this is clear.

  • I think that using Widgets would be the easiest way. If you theme has a sidebar widget area you could add a text widget to this and add the information here.

Thanks, truied what you suggested but I already have a custom menu wdiget in the sidebar and the text widget replaced the custom menu. How do I get both to show?

It seems that I have to use a vertical menu containing my custom menu in order for it to show up. What a faff. Still it’s fixed so that’s good.
