    I’ve been suffering this issue for about a year now and just working around it by manually pulling down thumbnail and editing them, then re-uploading, but it’s got to the stage where I have to say something.

    I have an inability to edit thumbnails on two out of three of my sites. One site, when you click on ‘edit thumb’ nothing happens whatsoever. On the other site, you can click on edit thumb, and update it, but it will never ever update on the front end.

    Please can someone help as the issue has gotten so bad that I just haven’t been wanting to update my work.

    @andythreecoaching – Sorry to read you are having these inconveniences. I would recommend starting with looking at the differences between the sites where you are seeing the varying degrees of functionality …

    … the site where you are seeing the changes and updates in the administration pages but not the front end could be a simply caching issue, try clearing the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous (as well as any other caching plugins/services that may be running on your site). IF that does not work, you may need to re-insert the specific display into the page/post to get the new “look”.

    With multiple sites, over an extended period of time, we would like to get you some help but it will also likely require each site be addressed individually as well. Please feel free to pick one and we can carry on from there if the above does not help to sort things out.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the response. I’d prefer not to clear the image cache as all this does for me is cause all the thumbnails in my gallery to lose their crop and then, seeing as I can’t just update the crop in the back-end, I have to pull down all the thumbnails and edit them manually and re-upload. Very time-consuming.

    Not sure what is meant by re-insert the specific display?

    I have two sites that are almost identical where one won’t let me edit the thumbs at all. You tried suggesting a few things in a previous post, I did those and none of them worked, so I think it might need someone at your end to look at it specifically?

    @andythreecoaching – Clearing the image cache should push NextGEN Gallery to use the most current version of the thumbnail, not revert it back to a version that is not there … or am I misunderstanding your current process and you are not over-writing the existing thumbnails?
