    Hi,

I initially had issues amending theme files via admin files due to a permissions error but I resolved that and updates were showing perfectly well afterwards.

However, I just tried to update footer.php and the changes weren’t showing. If I went back to footer.php in admin panel, my changes were showing but if I viewed footer.php in FileZilla, the changes were not showing.

Any idea what can fix this?

I am having a similar problem. I am trying to change ad banners in my header and footer and it won’t let me update or even delete the old ads. I am getting this message:

You clicked a link to https://mssparky.com/wp-admin/theme-editor.php and it doesn’t exist. An administrator has been emailed about this problem, too. You can click back and try again or search for what you’re looking for:

All I am trying to do is copy and paste a new ad code over an old one in the header and footer html. I’ve been doing it this way for several years and now it’s not working. I’ve checked my permissions. Any ideas?

A word of advice: never edit files using the admin file editor.

    Seriously; don’t do it.

If you need to edit files, use an FTP client and a text editor. You will save yourself many, many headaches later.

Chip-I’ve ever edited my theme that way and am not sure how to edit it that way. Any ideas on what is going on with my theme editor now?

I do tend to use the ftp method but I was just curious about why the admin panel way has stopped working considering my CHMOD settings appear to be correct.

I have uploaded a theme and I’m not able to see it work properly. I don’t know what’s wrong but the it seems to not read the styles. I’m not sure.

Here is the link to how it looks one the theme is uploaded. It should look like a normal website but this is what I get.

    Any help would be appreciated.
