Edit the auto-generated email sent to new registrations

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to find which file/function to edit in order to add text to the auto-generated email sent to new registrations.

    I want to add text to the email sent.

  • If it is WordPress 2.0.2, check the wp_new_user_notification function in the wp-includes/pluggable-functions.php file around line 407.

    Please note that modifying core files is generally discouraged, so make a backup of the file(s) before changing anything–just in case it doesn’t work you’ll have something to fall back on. Also, remember you will need to ‘retrofit’ that change upon subsequent WordPress upgrades.
