how do I change the text for subscriptions in the shopping cart? translate the string that says sign up fee and free trial…i’ve tried loco translate and the mini plugin for subscriptions extension, neither work to edit that text. help!

also, how to offer a pay in full option…would that be via a variable subscription? which I have tried, but have to put $0 for monthly fee which implies there will still be a transaction attempt to the card each month?

i would appreciate that. we are a small non profit and those terms do not work for us. more like deposit $xx and pay $xx/month. that’s it! we are switching from a more complex non profit management plugin because woocoomerce is simpler from a tech standpoint for our needs. we are not very techie. ??

it has been working so far, but now we need installment payments, so we set up woocommerce payments instead of paypal and i’ve been searching for a solution just to change that text so we can move forward. ty!

    Hi @aislndgrl,

We’re not able to provide support for premium products here in the community forums.

As your enquiries here are concerning something pertaining to the WooCommerce Subscriptions extension rather than the WooCommerce Payments plugin it’s best to open up a ticket by going to WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support.

Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

We will be able to help you further there.

i am referring to the FREE woocommerce payments plugin. it has subscription functionality built in. the previous reply from one of your moderators seems to clearly understand my issue. i am not using the paid extension, otherwise i would have opened a ticket there.

the paid subscription extension already has a mini plugin to apply to what i need, but that code does not work with woocommerce payments. that’s why i am here.

to repeat… i would like to edit the terms relating to “sign up fee” and “free trial” when creating a subscription product with WOOCOMMERCE PAYMENTS.

    thanks for your support.

    Try these steps @aislndgrl:

    1. As mentioned here, install Loco Translate.
    2. Go to Admin > Loco Translate > Plugins > WooCommerce Payments > Advanced > Add set.
    3. Fill in these values:
Project name: WooCommerce Payments Subscriptions (can be anything really)
    Text domain: woocommerce-subscriptions
    File prefix: woocommerce-subscriptions
    Template file: vendor/woocommerce/subscriptions-core/languages/woocommerce-subscriptions.pot
    4. Click the ‘Save config’ button.
    5. Go to Admin > Loco Translate > Plugins > WooCommerce Payments > Overview.
    6. Click the ‘New language’ button under the newly created set, not the one under ‘WooCommerce Payments’.
    7. Choose a language accordingly and choose location to be Custom.
    8. Click ‘Start translating’.
    9. Put in ‘sign-up fee’ and ‘free trial’ in the ‘Filter translations’ search field. I edited the ‘%1$s and a %2$s sign-up fee’ and ‘%1$s with %2$s free trial’ source text and I can see the changes on the cart page as you wanted.

you are amazing! you are my hero! so far so good. as long as everyone is happy with the wording, my work here is done.

one last question and this issue is resolved…if we offer pay in full option, setting the monthly to $0…will it require an authorization to the card, or does WC recognize $0 means no charge needed? I see no other way for pay in full using the subscriptions setting. have to put a monthly $$ amount.

thanks for the awesome support…you guys rock!

    Hello @aislndgrl,

As far as I know, it won’t require authorization to the card if the payment is set to $0.

Also, I am glad to know the other topic has been resolved.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.
