• Hi
I recently (two days ago) installed wordpress and all has been working fine.
Woke this morning, logged into dashboard to manage pages only to find that edit-pages.php is now an empty page with the number 54 in the top left hand corner.
No new plugins or themes installed.

    Any ideas?

I can go to the pages displayed on the site and edit them from the edit link, but not convenient at all….

  • Johnnylomo – any updates to your situation? I am having a similar problem – but with mine it is a 404 error.

A 404 error means that the file is probably missing.

Extract the edit-pages.php file from the wordpress install zip file and upload it to your server. While you’re doing that, look around the folder structure, *just* in case your site was hacked. Though, if you recently updated your wordpress install, this could be due to some random failure to upload every file.

Scribblerguy – thanks for your input. I’m positive that the edit-pages.php file is in its correct position, it’s possible however, that I may have missed another file it returns to along the way. I’m on my way home to check up on the other files!

How did you solve this? I had the same problem happen to me today.

    It just happened to me.
I have upgraded to Version 2.6.3
