When I edit my pages after installing the new Yoast, I do not see the area to enter in the meta description. On the edit page there is Snippet Editor, Focus Keyword and Content Analysis under the Yoast SEO area but no Meta Description as in the past. What do I need to do to get the on-page Meta Description to show?

  • Hi,
same problem here, no Meta Description.

I have found a solution : in the WordPress admin panel go to SEO > Tools and click on the third link (Bulk editor or something like that).
Then click on “Description” next to “Title” and you will be able to add a description here.

    Have a nice day ??

Why on Earth did they change this from an on-page option? Thank you for your assistance.

All you have to do is click on the description that is within the snippet editor. You can edit all of that information directly in there, unless I read your questions wrong?

Wow, OK got it. Did not know that all you had to do was click them, I am getting old.

Actually, my problems still remains : the meta description doesn’t appear, so I can’t click on it : Example

    Has anyone found a solution ? ??

Hello, I had the same problem and I found out that it was neither the fault of Google, nor the plugin that I use. You simply have to re-index or re-crawl your website`s URL through Google Search Console and, after a few moments, your new meta description and title will appear in Google Search results.
