• I edited the text of a php cron event, it appeared to successfully save the event. I then went in and edited the event and the changes had not been saved. Is there an issue with changing and saving a php cron event?

Does it work if you try again? ie. is the problem persistent or is it only sporadic?

Unfortunately the WP-Cron system in WordPress isn’t totally reliable when saving events, particularly on a site with many events so that one my be running right around the time you save your edit, and on sites with a persistent object cache. It doesn’t provide a way for WP Crontrol to know about every error either.

Try again and let me know if the problem persists.

I added some info to the wiki about this problem. There’s not much to add but hopefully something will be helpful: https://github.com/johnbillion/wp-crontrol/wiki/Problems-adding-or-editing-WP-Cron-events
