I’ve found I can only edit text visible for visitors in centralised place. I can not use same affiliate link item, but have it display different texts for my users.

But that’s kind of a must have, I want my texts to flow naturally on every page.
I know I can create second affiliate link with data I want, pointing to same referral url, but that would defeat the purpose of plugin: easy add links in 1 click, change referral url if needed.

Shortcodes already have text field embedded. But it only affects backend, not frontend. Do you think you will make it possible to edit link text with shortcode attribute? If yes, when?

    Hi there,

At the moment the shortcode will always use the text defined in the backend, that way you could easily change the text in multiple places at once.

We do plan on allowing multiple text per affiliate link, but I cannot give you a deadline for this yet.

If you want to change the text you can link directly to the shortened URL for now. That way those visits will still count and you can alter the target URL in 1 single place.

    Kind regards,
    Brecht

    Hi, BrechtVds.
That’s pretty good solution, thanks for the advice. Will use it.

That’s main workflow for me: I just want to have all the urls at my fingertips, tracking is great too.
You may want to consider have it output text your way by default, and custom text if shortcode text / customtext attribute was changed / set. Maybe I’m not the only one who would see this natural.

    Thanks for prompt reply!

A sidenote: shortcode generates urls like
    https://dima.stefantsov.com/go/evernote/

    backend UI shows links like
    https://dima.stefantsov.com/go/evernote

Both work without additional redirects, but looks inconsistent.

Right, I’ll keep it in mind.

    Hi again,

Just wanted to let you know that as of version 1.1 the text shown in the frontend is actually the one in the text attribute in the shortcode.

It’s now possible to easily change that text by clicking on existing affiliate links or when adding them.
