How did you install? Were you overwriting the files or have you installed after deleting/uninstalling the previous installation?

all i did was edit config.php add the new db info.

First I open up the installation page.
Second filled all site title, username, password and email then click install wordpress.
Third I login go to media tab add image and still give me the same result

I don’t know what u mean by deleting/uninstalling the previous installation

Install WordPress in a sub-folder using a fresh download of the WordPress files.

never mind i found out the issue i did a wp install on another shared host on godaddy I was able to install wp and finally have the edit image button appear. I think it might be my cloud server issue that giving me a hard time. I’m going to switch to either vps or dedicated

Hi, I recently upgrade my cloud server. When i install Wp and setup everything. Then i upload an image it doesn’t show the image edit button i try add define(‘SCRIPT_DEBUG’, true);to the bottom of your wp-config.php file (just before the require_once line) that esmi explain and create another admin account and login to that account still doesn’t show the image

My cloud is running on cpanel the issue i’m having that won’t show the edit image button

I have another server that run on directadmin and was able to install wp with the edit image button

So could someone help me why the only cpanel i’m using won’t show the edit button when i install wp

I am having the exact same problem on a VPS server. I have no Edit Image button. Any new thoughts?

it been 4 days now and no one willing to give me an answer.

I’m going to say this the last time could someone please help me fixed the edit image button issue i’m running on cloud server under cpanel. I install wordpress and upload an sample image then it won’t show the image edit button.

I have a second dedicated server under directadmin I was able to install wordpress and upload an image sample then it was able to show the edit image button successful.

So how come is that my cloud won’t do the same as my dedicated server does when i install wordpress to enable edit image button

I’m still researching as well. Solutions that have been suggested are (1) get rid of line breaks in functions.php…I tried but not very familiar with the syntax, and (2) be sure that php5-gd is installed and enabled. I’m over my head on this as I don’t know how to communicate wtih the server.

A step-by-step approach for dummies would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I had the same issue. Enabling GD worked for me. I proceeded as follows (YMMV):

    1. Shut down the apache service
    2. Edit php.ini
    3. Search php.ini for ;extension=php_gd2.dll
    4. Remove the preceeding ; character to leave extension=php_gd2.dll
    5. Save php.ini changes
    6. Re-start the apache service

Lots of things may be slightly different for you but that’s the broad plan of attack.
