Edit home page

Note sure which version of WP I am using.
I couldn’t figure out how to edit my homepage (had switched from another theme) and there are lists on the default homepage that i couldn’t figure out how to edit. So I created another page called “Home” and now I have two HOME tabs in my menu bar! What a mess I made! Thank you in advance for any help for me! I had gotten pretty proficient at WP 3 years ago but hadn’t done much since and now getting back into it … and forgotten much of what I learned back then!
