In the gallery manager: some galleries edit page works perfectly (the most recent). Some others (older galleries) give “TypeError thrown, Cannot access offset of type string on string”.
The page giving the fatal error is admin.php?page=nggallery-manage-gallery&mode=edit.
Not sure if it happened after a nextgen update or php update.

    Please help.

    Hi @giudansky,

    Thanks @giudansky,

I am wondering if you can try to temporarily switch to PHP 7.4 then check again to see if that changes anything. Please keep us updated on your results.

Ill try to revert back to php 7.4 in the next days, unfortunately its a live site, I cant test/stress it freely.
It’s probably going to fix that. Infact I encountered the issue just right after the php 8 update. But the questions are:

1: Why this is involving only part of the galleries (the older ones) ?
2: How can I update them so I can pass to php 8 ?

    Thanks

    Hi @giudansky,

This is the first time when I came across this problem so I am very unsure on what is happening. We don’t have any other similar reports this far so that may be not something that’s happening because of the PHP version and it may need some deep dive into the problem.

We’ll be waiting on your results after temporarily switching to PHP 7.4.
