I was doing troubleshooting and turning on/off plugins to find a conflict. SOmewhere in doing so, the Appearance > Edit CSS menu item disappeared along with all the custom CSS I entered there.

    Anyone know what happened?!

    Thanks,
    CIndy

Never mind I figured it out. Edit CSS is part of the Jetpack plugin. When I did plugin testing and deactivated Jetpack it lost the connection to WordPress. I had to reconnect it after I activated it.

Glad to know that you could resolve the issue. ??

OMG. Hours of pain searching Genesis support and the net for this answer. Part of Jetpack… Thought I lost it all. The next question would be how to make sure that you don’t lose the CSS changes you make inside this if you deactivate the plugin (i.e. where are the CSS file changes stored in Jetpack)

    I’m looking…

Im not sure where on your server the information is stored. But, if my memory serves me correctly, when I reactivated Jetpack, the Edit CSS option was there with the last few versions still saved. (in the right column “CSS Revisions”). I just clicked on the last one created and all was restored.

Thanks guys for solving my problem. I wasn’t aware edit CSS is part of Jetpack. I upgraded Jetpack, reconnected to WordPress.com and I got my CSS back.
