• Hi team,
Please could you assist for the code on editing the footer copyright code for Theme Ample ?
I saw that in a previous thread/forum question you referred the person to make contact via your website, but it does not seem that its possible to do so there.

I would like to remove ‘powered by WordPress’ – ‘Theme Ample from ThemeGrill’ can even stay if needed for the free version, but it would be great if that can be removed as well.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hey @dienies ,

    Thank you for writing in,

The user was requested to contact via live chat for this query because the option to remove footer copyright is available in the pro version of our theme. As we are not allowed to discuss the pro features here, we request our users to contact us via live chat.

You can do so as well by going to our site here: https://themegrill.com/

Huh. Really? Pro version for that ask? That’s a bit much. This is all GPL’ed code and no one needs to buy the pro version for that reason.

@dienies Are you a pro user of this theme? I’m guessing not.

Removing the footer credits is a normal ask. If you are not a pro user pf this theme then I’ll see how easy or hard it is for you to remove that credit. It should be straight forward with a child theme of the Ample theme.

If it proves to be difficult then I promise that I will talk to the Theme Review Team about that.

This is all opensource code so it should not be a back breaking exercise to do something like remove the links in a theme. If it is then that needs to be addressed.

Yes, if you want to just hide the footer copyright info, we can provide the custom CSS to hide it. It would be one of the simplest ways but it just hides the copyright text, the actual code rendering it is still there.

Now, if you want to totally remove it along with code or even edit it, you will need to use a child theme which you can download from here. You will need to just copy the footer copyright function to your child’s theme function.php and make the changes there. Let us know if you need further help on this.

@jdembowski The code is child theme friendly.
Frankly speaking, we do have the option to change/remove the footer copyright directly from the customizer easily in pro version for this theme. Some users like this and purchase the pro version. For others, we do provide the solution via code/child theme or other ways. Sometimes, we do want to tell the users available options via our chat on our site. Please let us know if are doing something not as per the wp.org forum guidelines and we will make sure to follow it from next time. ??

    Thanks.
