Edit, Assign and Delete Caps Not Saving After Page Reload for Custom Taxonomies
-
Hello,
We are experiencing an issue with PublishPress Capabilities after updating from version 2.13.0 to 2.14.0. The issue persists in the latest 2.17.0 version.
Setup Details:
- Custom Post Type: “Items” (from CitadelaWP Theme and plugins)
- Taxonomies: Item Categories and Item Locations (both hierarchical)
- Environment:
- WordPress Versions 6.5.4 and 6.7.1 (tested)
- Server: Nginx
- OS: FreeBSD
- PHP: Version 8.2
- Browser: Chrome
Issue Observed:
- Detailed taxonomy capabilities (edit, assign, and delete) for these taxonomies do not persist after saving.
- Users with the Editor role cannot manage these taxonomies when editing the “Items” custom post type.
- The issue arose after updating from PublishPress Capabilities 2.13.0 to 2.14.0 and persists in version 2.17.0.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Update PublishPress Capabilities to 2.14.0 or later.
- Attempt to set and save taxonomy capabilities for Item Categories or Locations.
- Reload the page and observe that the settings revert.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
- Downgraded to version 2.13.0, where the issue does not occur.
- Tested in a development environment with only the CitadelaWP Listing and Pro plugins.
- Observed the issue on WordPress versions 6.5.4 and 6.7.1 when using versions 2.14.0+ of the plugin.
Anything help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
