Ecto setup, bad login/pass?!

  • Hey guys,

    Somewhat of a rookie using wordpress so .

    No idea what version of wordpress im using, a friend set up a domain for me with a blogging function. I have been logging on online.
    That is working fine, accessing and all that.

    Now: I want to use Ecto to write my posts offline.
    Using Ecto 3 (I think) I want to access my blog.
    Using the assistant it should be a no-brainer?

    Choosing wordpress in the first dropdown.
    Typing in blogg.henkebunk.se (yup, should be with 2 g’s)

    username/password – same as in the wp-login
    and then I get a bad pass/username error message.

    Where do I go wrong?? This should be super basic!

  • Go to Settings –> Writting

    Check the option: Enable the Atom Publishing Protocol.

    again check your username and password

    in ecto or wordpress (online)?

    in ecto 3 I find two options for settings: “general” or “tools & addons”
    neither of them contain writting (or writing)

    I don’t find it in wordpress Option/writing.

    would you provide the path where I enable atom publishing protocol?

    not in ecto, in your wordpress blog.

    Login to your admin panel: https://yourblog.com/wp-admin

    then go to Settings –> Writting

    Check the option: Enable the Atom Publishing Protocol.

    reach wordpress dashboard

    Cannot find settings, but see options.
    Under it is a writing tab.

    cannot find atom publishing protocol there.

    down on the wordpress page is: wordpress-mu-1.2.4
    can I upgrade to a more recent version and if so how?

    Can that be the case why I cant use ecto?

    may be your this is not the problem, but you need to check this first..

    if this is a version problem, how do I upgrade my wordpress.
    this is through a website, no idea how it works.
