• Hi,

I’ve got your plugin installed and setup on a website and I can see the page view code is working fine and I can also see the ecommerce event firing when a product is added to the cart, but when I’m checking out, the related event is not firing.

Events can also be seen in GA under Behaviour > Events > Event Action

I can see the following events:

    gtm4wp.productClickEEC
    gtm4wp.addProductToCartEEC
    gtm4wp.checkoutOptionEEC
    gtm4wp.checkoutStepEEC
    gtm4wp.removeFromCartEEC

But i’m not seeing any transactional data appearing under conversions > ecommerce. Goals are working and have been working since the website went live.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • We can confirm that we also had this issue with ecommerce tracking on version 1.11.4. Rolling back to 1.9 for now.

Where can I find the older version of the plugin?

    Hi Everyone,

I always test new versions on the official dev site of the plugin:
    https://woo.gtm4wp.dev/

Here you can place test orders without using any credit card or entering any real personal data. As far as I can see, purchase data is populated correctly with the latest version.

Of course, that does not necessarily mean that there is not bug to fix in the plugin, but to examine your issues, I need your help since it can be a specific case with your theme+plugin combination.

@singhwise – on your site I see some strange behaviour in your GA tags. If I press the add to cart button, there are 2 GA pageview tags firing too. My best guess is that you added your GA pageview as a setup tag with Tag Sequencing in your GA add to cart tag but forgot to set the “Once per page” option in your GA pageview tag in Tag firing options.

I was not able to place a test order on your site since I had to use my bank card and actually pay for the products. Can I somehow place an order without the need to actually pay for the items?

    Hi Thomas,

if you use this code DELVE100 you get a 100% discount at checkout.

I’ll take a look at the “once per page” option.

The strange thing is that transactions without any value do get recorded in ecommerce reporting in GA. So if you use that discount code, it will work.

In that case, please review the settings of any 3rd party payment gateway: it is mandatory that each payment gateway redirects your users back to the order received page without the need to click to any element on the gateway website. Users need to be forced to get back to your webshop in order to any transaction tracking to work.

    Hi Thomas

After a payment is made via the payment gateway’s own page, the customer is automatically redirected back to the order recieved page on the website. So this is working fine.

I have someone looking into the GTM setup as they have used your plugin on a number of websites.

Great, I hope you get the proper results shortly.
If you find any bug, please let me know, I am more than happy to fix any code in case there is a general issue with the plugin.
