    Hello,

I noticed a strange behavior that appeared only recently.

When a customer buys a variable product on my woocommerce website, it’s like if all the data from the ecommerce data layer is passed into the order as variations of a product.

    Pretty weird.

Here’s a screenshot of an order: https://ibb.co/ctyVbLD. Normally in this product I would only have SKU, Variation ID, Voltage, Sensor Type and nozzle size in the variations.

    Hi,

That is weird indeed, I do not see any such listing on my sandbox site.
Could you share what other WooCommerce related plugins you are using?

Hum, I think the issue is resolved now after updating some plugins.

    Hello,
I ‘ve experienced the same issue.
For some reason and not in all occasions some variables from gtm4wp are passing in customers cart and order also.

I tried to reproduce the issue and it was difficult. I couldn’t find a pattern. What i ‘ve understood is that when a customer adds a variable product in cart, and then leaves the page, the item remains in the cart. If the customer visits the page again in 1-2 days those variables appear in the cart and if the item is been ordered, the variables pass in the order too.

Maybe it has to do with the session cookie that wordpress uses or items in cart cookie, in don’t know.

Here is an example of an order that came in my eshop

Peak Design EVERYDAY SLING 5L – Ash
    SKU: BSL-5-AS-1
    Variation ID: 13337
    nonce: c3dffbbd2c

    quantity:1

    gtm4wp_id:13290

    gtm4wp_name:Peak Design EVERYDAY SLING 5L

    gtm4wp_sku:BSL-5

    gtm4wp_category:Μαλακ?? Θ?κε? & Τσ?ντε?

    gtm4wp_price: 85.957

    gtm4wp_currency:EUR

    gtm4wp_stocklevel:1

    ppec-add-to-cart:13290

    product_id: 13290

    variation_id:13339

    €85,96× 1
    €85,96
    €20,63

As you can see there are many gtm4wp values that shouldn’t be there. And it is visible to the customer also.

I have experienced that issue in two completely different e-shops.

    Thanks
    Regards.

    Thanks!

I can see that this is a real issue but since it is hard to catch, I haven’t come up with a solution yet. But your idea to return to the site later and then finalize the order is a good point, I will try this.
