We are currently not actually charging our customers for shipping but we’d still like to be able to use EasyPost in order to get cubic pricing for shipping our products. How would we set it up to use EasyPost but not charge shipping or to simply include shipping in the cost of the product?

  • Hi Aron,

The plugin uses the existing WooCommerce layout to display the rates on the checkout page. Unfortunately, there is no option to get the rates apart from the cart/checkout page.

It is a little tricky to implement the real-time rates along with product pricing which our plugin does not provide out of the box as a feature.

    Hey Nishad,

Thanks for the reply, somehow I missed this before! Knowing what you said above, I’ve gone ahead and added shipping to our product and we’re getting the correct shipping price (the lower price from EasyPost), however nothing goes through to our EasyPost account or I dont see anywhere that I can print the shipping label at that price.

I have the API Key inputed and set to Live. Is there something that I am missing?

All and any help is appreciated as we’re really trying to get this working as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Aron,

The Easy post plugin Free version does not have the option to print labels, You’ll have to print them manually in the Easy post site. The print label option is available only in the plus version of the plugin.

Let us know if you’d want to upgrade to the plus version.

    Hey Lorenzo,

I understand that the free version does not offer label printing but shouldnt it at least be communicating with my EasyPost account with the free version? I should see the purchases in my EasyPost account so that I can print my labels there, correct? Or do I need to buy the premium version of the plugin in order to have it even communicate with my EasyPost account?

Please let me know as soon as possible, thanks!

    Hi Aron,

Sorry for the delay in response, Our free version of the plugin works only for quoting the shipping rates in the front end, But once the order is placed you’ll need to create a shipment from Easy post site. The free version of the plugin will not update about any orders to Easy post. In order to achieve your requirements a mentioned in your query you’ll need to purchase the premium version of the plugin where you can print the labels using the plugin itself.

Thanks Lorenzo. I went ahead and purchased the premium version of the plugin and all seems to be working accordingly, however just to clarify, the free version should still pass the order information to our EasyPost account so we can print the lables within our EasyPost account, correct? The paid version basically just allows some bells and whistles like the ability to print labels from within our website, etc. Correct?

    Thanks again in advance!

    Hi Aron,

The Free version only communicate with the Easy post API for the rate request, The shipment details are updated on the Easy post shipping request history only if the shipment request is sent from the order page. This option to request for shipment and print label is only available in the premium version.

The premium version allows you to request the shipment and print labels so that you don’t need to go to Easy Post Site and manually print the labels or request for the shipment.

Thanks again Lorenzo. I’m now getting an error when trying to “Generate Package” within the order – Create shipment failed. Validation failed: Predefined package Invalid predefined package type.

I have my Flat Rate box set to “USPS Medium Box – 2”. It shows the shipping pricing on the checkout as $11.60 for that setting, however I get that error when trying to create the label.

Why would I be getting that error?

    Hi @aronjeney,

    Hi @aronjeney,

“Create shipment failed. Validation failed: Predefined package Invalid predefined package type”, this error may be coming because the box selected by you – “USPS Medium Box – 2” is not valid for the service being used.

Hence, we are asking you to Raise a ticket so that our team can analyse the request and response info and quickly give you a solution.
