    I recently switched from Titan Mail to Google Workspace for my domain, but I can’t seem to get the EASY WP SMTP plugin to work with gmail service for handling my website email notifications.

    TLS | 587
    Along with the email username and password, but it keeps throwing an error.

    Am I missing something? with Titan, it was pretty straightforward…

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Just to confirm, what is the specific error you are seeing when attempting to send a test email?

    Also, please ensure that you have followed all the instructions mentioned in this section of our documentation regarding connecting to the Google SMTP server using the Other SMTP mailer.

    A crucial step is that you will need to generate an App Password if you haven’t already.

    Oh I get it now, I was missing the app password part! Thanks for clarifying.

    It works fine now and there are no errors.

    But another problem now is that some email services aren’t getting the emails with the “From Name”, even when it is forced. eg; proton mail users are getting it from the email address, it shows “mymail@example.com” in the email heading and not the from name.

    That certainly is strange. May we have a screenshot with all sensitive information censored? Also, you mentioned multiple services, what other services are experiencing this issue?

    Also, are you viewing it in an app or browser window for each one of those services? Does the From Name appear for every other email you received in those inboxes?

    So I only have snapshots from proton mail, but I think if proton is this way, then 1 or 2 others might be the same issue. Google Mail works fine (From name shows properly).
    I’m viewing the app on both Chrome browser window and the mobile app.

    P.S: It sends the same way for normal emails not just tests and it only started this after the switch to Gmail smtp.

    Thank you for getting back to us.

    That certainly is strange. I’ll check with our developers about this, but in the meantime, are you open to testing a different mailer to see if the issue is reproducible on your end?

    Please try using either the SendLayer or Brevo mailers because they offer a free trial/free tier respectively.
