Easy to use and nicely featued
-
I have been using this plugin on my website for several years. I originally chose it because I wanted a plugin that could handle a slideshow with testimonials of different lengths gracefully, which Strong Testimonials does, fading from one testimonial to the next so there is no jarring jumpy effect when the height of the testimonial changes.
I also wanted to include a photo, which is not supported by many other free testimonial plugins unless you buy their premium version.
I like that the title for each testimonial is presented as a pull quote, though this doesn’t work quite so well on a phone. The addition of a mobile-specific setting to move the left margin further to the left on small screens so that the title text, rather than the quote mark, aligns with the left margin of the photo below it would be an improvement.
I appreciate that I am able to use HTML in the description, which makes it more flexible than some other plugins. For example, I have been able to format my client’s name differently from the testimonial text, add links to before and after photos showing the results of my services, and also include multiple links where a client has more than one website. It is easy to use since it uses the familiar post editor interface. I set up my testimonials pre-Gutenberg using the classic editor, so I haven’t tried it with the block editor.
It worked fine with my theme (Vega), which adds content to sections in a front page template by creating a page for each section. I simply pasted the shortcode for my testimonials into a page, and designated that page for an “Open Content” section in my theme in Customize.
