I’m looking for a new theme and am considering this one. With this theme will I have any problems in the future if I decide to switch to a different theme? Looking at the demo, it looks like it uses a lot of short codes.

    Hi,

I′m a newbie too, but i change only between twentyfifteen to twentysixteen and when i return to the first theme everything was ok.

I think that there′s no changes in the themes, except the one′s that you do and save.

    I hope it helps.

It sounds like you’re just trying the live preview. I’m talking about if I switch to Optimizer, and then in the future want to change to a different theme. I’m concerned that all of the short codes that are used might cause a problem when switching to a different theme.

    Traci,

These are not shortcodes actually, all of our demos are built with widgets. Which wont be visible when you change the theme. When you switch it back to Optimizer your widgets will be there.

What about any content that is in the widgets? Will that be gone if I switch themes? Any way to export it? Or would I be forever tied to the theme unless I didn’t mind losing the content?

    Traci,

No the widgets settings wont be lost. they will be in the “Inactive Widgets” area. Which you can access from Appearance > Widgets.

And exporting and importing widget settings is only available in the PRO version.

    Thanks

OK, so the content in the widgets won’t be lost? That’s my main concern if it’s all built with widgets.

No Traci, They wont be lost.

Whoops. I guess I need to mark it as resolved before posting.
