Easy Theme modification Question

  • Just starting out with WordPress and after using several themes I’m finding that I’m unable to modify certain features.

    e.g. Shuttle iBusiness theme I’d like to 1) Center align the menu and 2) add my own images to individual pages e.g. About instead of just a coloured rectangle.

    What is the typical way to achieve this?

    Do I use the Theme Editor to change the code (will any updates overwrite these)?

    Add additional CSS?
