Easy plug-in to email posts?

I have been very happy using Subscribe2 until I recently updated it. I’m hesitant to activate the included Readygraph – it sounds as though this will create tracking emails such as I receive when visitng other sites (we see that you’ve looked at some product – don’t you want to come back and buy it)

At this stage – I think this sort of thing would drive my readers away. I’m a writer – aspiring to finish and publish a book. I want to attract followers, have them receive my emails, and be anxious to buy my book. I have nothing to sell yet.

I’m having trouble finding a well-recommended plug-in that is compatible with WP version 4.2. I’ve spent hours trying to find something (I really wish it were possible to sort by advanced criteria – such as whether a plug-in is compatible) and need to find something very soon. Can anyone recommend a trustworthy plug-in for this?
