I have been using this plugin for quite some time now without issue. However, we noticed last week that it no longer works.

We have 3x modals in total, all of which stopped working. No new plugins have been installed and no settings were changed, so we have no idea what has caused this to stop working.

I have disabled a few plugins to try and determine if there are any incompatibilities, but nothing has fixed it so far. Here is a screenshot of all the plugins installed on the site (below) – please let me know if there are any that simply cannot work with Easy Modal so that I can try disabling it.

Clicking the “[?] Explain” link on the page is supposed to pop-up a modal, but as you will see it does not work.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

@samnabz – Ok there seems to be a JS error. By chance were changes made to the Modal Theme?

Either way try editing the theme, and simply hitting save again. No changes should be needed. See if that resolves the issue. The JS error is due to missing settings in the theme.

That said have you looked at Popup Maker, it is basically Easy Modal v3 and includes built in migration tools and doesn’t even require you to change your css eModal-# classes as it will remap them automatically using a simple 2 click migration.

PS You can test Popup Maker side by side with Easy Modal. That is to say install it, import from EM, enable the EM migration script in Popup Maker settings and then disable EM. If it doesn’t work for any reason no changes will be made to EM, your modals or themes so switching back is as simple as disabling one and re-enabling the other.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey danieliser,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

I installed Popup Maker and followed your instructions – and for some reason, Easy Modal started working again! So I disabled Popup Maker and Easy Modal is still working like it used to.

Not sure what happened there. Maybe installing the other plugin solved the JS issue/error? Who knows…

    Nevertheless, thanks again ??

Not a problem, glad you got it working either way.
