• I am very grateful for EasyFootnotes, but I would like to know if it’s possible to alter it to just use as a text hover option, without the footnote? Or have you another plugin that does this?

I am looking for something like the Text Hover plugin but with the capacity of Easy Footnote to allow multiple lines of text and allow the inserted text to be added simply, at the location of the term or sentence being defined rather than on a definition space. I’d like to delete the number reference and delete the actual footnote, and simply highlight the word or phrase in the post and have a hover that gives the additional information.

And as is probably obvious from my terminology, I know NOTHING about programming in WordPress. The ‘Easy’ in Easy footnotes was definitely the biggest draw for me!

Thanks for any help you may be able to give! Kat

There currently is no way to use Easy Footnotes without the footnotes. Hovering a term for a definition would probably need to be a separate plugin. That is a neat idea, but not quite what Easy Footnotes was built for. Sorry!

I too would very much like this. The tooltips you have created for Easy Footnotes are beautiful, and the shortcode wonderfully simple. But I don’t need footnotes, just the info on hover. The best I have so far is a lightbox solution, but that is too showy for my purposes. Could you modify your plugin to make an “Easy Tooltip” plugin as described above. I would happily pay $50 for this.

Example page of my site with the lightbox solution (on click)
