Easy Facebook Feed 4.3.7 will not update

Everytime we post something to facebook, we have to login to wordpress plugin and clear the cache in order for the most recent posts to appear in the plugin feed.

I have this installed on three sites and they are all behaving the same since the clear cache method was added during last two updates to plugin. Also there is no way to adjust update interval as there was in previous version.

If this is not resolved, I will be uninstalling the plugin(s) and searching for a better solution.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I am having the same problem.

I’m also having this issue with a site I’m working on. I noticed in the changelog it says “Added: Minimum 6 days cache storing.” in the 4.3.6 before the clear cache option was added in the most recent release. So I speculate if to try and prevent errors he coded in that minimum of 6 days to override our setting of cache updates. Maybe Facebook throws errors if too many calls are made for the feed? Maybe the people getting errors set the cache to refresh every minute or something? Now obviously the clear cache is working so perhaps all he needs to do is enable the cache to clear automatically if only once a day and remove the setting for us to set the cache time altogether if it gives some people errors. I mean once a day cache refresh would at least be better than 6 days.

    Hi there,

This change was made in order to prevent frequent API calls rate limit exceeding the allowed limit. That was resulting to not show the feed at all for some of our valuable users.

To figure this out, we started some tests with different combinations to see which one reduces API call to stay within the rate limit.

That is why we set 6-days default limit with clear cache option. This is to prevent fetching new data on each reload or after few hours.

However, as I mentioned we are continuously testing different values with different applications and soon we will be reducing the cache interval.

For now, please go to WP Admin -> Easy Facebook Likebox -> Clear Cache and refresh the cache to pull the new information.

Thank you so much for sharing the feedback and being invaluable users of this plugin! ??

This is NOT resolved. 6 days is a ridiculous delay and is not acceptable. Logging in to clear the cache as often as facebook updates are made is logistically not possible. Many facebook users post hourly and we need updates delivered as often as they post.

Closing this thread does not solve the problem we are facing.

So at this time I will be seeking a better solution, because this solution is unacceptable.

    Hi there,

On request of you valuable users we added the default 5 days cache and it can be minimum 1 day storage. New version is released update it now.

As you guys know Facebook is limiting the API calls but still I am working on it to improve more in future.

    Thanks for yours patience

Sweet, thanks for listening. Hopefully it won’t throw errors with only a once a day cache storage but time will tell. Thanks again!

Hi, It seams that the posts are not updated even if I remove cache. Any news?

Last post on fb page is of 8 days ago, but the last post that the plugin shows is of 2 months ago. Please help me. Thanks
