  • Easy and simple to use. I had previously tried Username Changer, which caused the site to crash, and show a 500 error.
    This plugin does the job. Once installed, it adds a Username Updater menu item to the Users tab in the Admin menu.
    When you open that, it displays a Users List, with all the users displayed.
    Click on the Update column for the username you want to change, and you will see a page with the old username, a box for the new username, and a checkbox where you can select to send the new user an email about their updated username.
