Easily change fonts for entire site?

Changing fonts globally is fairly theme-dependent, but in general you can add them to body {} in your child theme or custom CSS plugin:

body {
font-family: "New Font", serif;
}

If your theme uses different fonts for headers, widget titles, etc., body {} probably won’t cover them. We can give more specific advice if we knew what theme you were using.

As for your second question, this is the one I use, but it only handles Google fonts, so if that’s an issue for you, there are an extremely large number of other plugins available.

As for your plugin, the font I desire (Myriad Pro Light) is not in the list of Google fonts, so maybe I will research another plugin, if the CSS edits prove to be too difficult.

OK I added your code, and it changed *most* elements. As you mentioned, there are elements it did not affect:

page titles (I guess these are headers?)
widget titles

These fonts can be changed with CSS I assume? And for the future, if I had text in my header (or footer), how would I change those fonts? Can I just add similar code to my style.css:

header {
font-family: "New Font", serif;
}

Or do I have to modify header.php in some way?

It depends on how the author set up their CSS and also if the author uses different fonts for headers, body text, etc. You might benefit from learning how to use a web inspecting tool like Firebug. This is a good resource for doing so.

I use Chrome’s inspect element quite frequently, but not on a very advanced level. Firebug looks very similar to that. Can Firebug do things that Chrome’s inspect element cannot?

I’m not very familiar with Chrome in general, but I doubt it. A lot of the information in the link I posted is applicable to all web inspecting tools in general.
