• I am a complete newbie to this and am doing a site for a non-profit – https://www.rcyfcc.org – I am trying to show a complete PDF file in a clean, easy format (no frames or anything just the PDF almost like a JPEG). I have tried converting to JPEG but it is not large enough. I used the Google Doc Embedder but it shows frames and is hard to see the actual pdf without hitting download.

Again, I only have access to the dashboard and am not a developer just a dad trying to help out his daughter’s gymnastics team.

Any advice on how to show a PDF as if it were a large picture would be most appreciated.

  • Part of the problem may be how different browsers handle PDF’s. What is the PDF?

It is a simple excel spreadsheet that was converted to a PDF.

I tried to use Scribd to get an embedded link but all my page shows is the embedded link and not the actual page. Like I said I am a complete newbie to this. The page is using Google Doc Embeder right now but the parents want to see the document “bigger” than the current view.

Where is it on the site?

Most of my pages have these, Practice Schedule, Calendar, Meet Schedule, etc… I just created a page for each one so the parents could view each one individually.

One problem is that the content section of that page isn’t full width – doesn’t Responsive have a full-width template?

I’m not sure that’s going to make the PDF very readable, but it would be better.

I have no idea, I just saw a lot of stuff that you needed to pay on the responsive web site, I can try to look.

I looked at my test site…looks like you should have that as an option – on the page edit screen, look at the “Page Attributes” section on the right side – under Templates pull-down, select the full-width, no sidebar option.

Okay so I did that and got the full length but I would still like to have it almost look like a picture on the web page itself.

PDF’s don’t behave that way on websites – though, depending on the browser, clicking on the “download PDF” link DOES display it in a new browser window (in Firefox). And that’s zoomable and pretty readable for me.

If you save the Excel as an image – you would be able to do display it as an image, but I don’t think it will be very readable still, just because of the size of the pages/spreadsheet.
