Easiest way to import media via a script

  • Pretty new to WordPress, and have been experimenting with ways to get an XML( RSS or ATOM ) imported automatically, or even via the import functionality in the admin UI.

    I can get the RSS import working and have posts created, however I can’t find out how to attach a media asset( images ). If I put the img link in the body then the image will appear obviously, however I’d like the asset attached, like you go about it in the UI. Is there a way to do this?

    I’ve also been experimenting with the Perl modules for WordPress::API, and I’ve gotten as far as uploading the media, however there seems to be no way to attach it to a post. Heres the link to that Module -> https://bit.ly/82ARMZ
