Easiest way to?

I want to make a few pages that are not included in the wordpress links. About Us, Contact US, etc…
What is the easiest way of doing this and not making pages that I need to update independently to the upgrades for wordpress in the future?
Any suggestions? or will there always be some static pages that require updating? If so .. can someone tell me where to add my data so that it shows up in the content area? or maybe I can call a html document to show up in the content area?
Suggestions are welcome…
