Easiest Set-up Imaginable, Few Features

  • The Hotjar plugin (version 1.0.2) was unbelievably easy to install and get set up. You simply install, activate, go to Hotjar settings (under the main settings tab) and paste in your Hotjar Site ID. After that, it loads up your site with a notification that says Hotjar is working! It’s possibly the simplest WordPress integration I have ever done.

    With that said, it’s so simple that it has no plugin options whatsoever. I would love to see the option to load or not load Hotjar based on a logged-in user’s role. I would prefer to not track the site visits of site admin as it skews the data. If the plugin’s developer add that feature, I think this plug-in would be perfect.

    There is an option for IP blocking under account. You can input in your IP address. It will be even better if you have a static IP address.
