• My topic was closed so i hope that someone can help me. Here is my issue:
Last night I upgraded my wordpress to 3.4.1. I’m hosted on godaddy and nothing is wrong there. I can’t access my wp-admin. I’m new to all of this so I’m not quite comfortable nor do I understand all the jargon ?? I hope someone can’t help me access my admin pages again.
    thank you

I am so sorry about that. I did try to stop people hijacking it but it seems that some people just don’t listen. ??

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

Same problem here! Clicked on the automatic UPGRADE and then I lost access to my wp-admin. Re the fix above: How can I switch themes if I don’t have access to the admin area?

I’ll wait for esmi and if no show I’ll explian. But chances are esmi will be back. hang in there.

@smackcell: It’s considered rude on these forums to interrupt another’s topic with questions of your own. so I suggest you either read the suggestions I gave to the original poster very carefully. Or you post your own topic.

also how do i go about resetting my plugins through ftp? Thanks again!

please post this as a new topic, I’m unavailable at the moment but I’ll check back later and if still unresolved I’ll assist.

hope this is not considered rude: I had the same problem and fixed it… without any FTP. Please see my recent post. My site is hosted at Godaddy.

Please see the link I posted above.
