• Hi,

I’ve recently start working with the EAN plugin and I’m really happy with the features and ease of use. I’m using a feed manager (Channable) to push all product data to Google Shopping. For Google Shopping I need to add the EAN per product, but unfortunately I don’t see any ‘EAN’ or ‘GTIN’ attribute in my feed manager (exported the Woocommerce data several times after I’ve installed the EAN plugin).

My question is – what is the best way to show the EAN data in my feed manager? I’ve tried the feature ‘Copy to product meta’, but still there is nothing to see in the feed manager. From other plugins I use I see all data in the feed manager, but the EAN data is not showing up.

Could you please help me out? Thanks!

  • Hi there.

    Thanks for your reaching out.

I haven’t used the plugin?Feed manager (Channable) plugin. But While mapping the fields in the plugin, is there any way to add new attribute? Then please create a new attribute and set the new attribute’s name to?GTIN[gtin]?and Value to?_alg_ean.?

Please give it a try. If you encounter any issues, then please let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Moshtafizur

    Hi Moshtafizur,

Thanks for your quick reply. Channable is not a plugin, but like Data Feed Watch (https://www.datafeedwatch.com/) an external feed manager. In the feed manager I connect WooCommerce and export all product data from WooCommerce into the feed manager. Unfortunately, I don’t see the EAN data in the feed manager. So yes, it’s possible to map attributes in the feed manager, but the EAN attribute is not visible at all.

So the question is – how can I make the EAN attribute visible, so it will be exported from WooCommerce to a feed manager?

    Kind regards

    Paul

    Hi, @surfsurf11,

I’m not sure if it will help, but I suggest we try copying EAN to a product attribute.

Create a new product attribute (in “Products > Attributes > Add new”), for example, “EAN”. Then try manually setting this attribute for a product and check if Channable allows you to map this attribute.

If that will solve the issue, we can use our tools to copy all your EANs to our new attribute:

    • To copy all current EANs – run the “Copy EAN to the product attribute for all products” tool in “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools > Product Tools > Copy to product attribute”.
    • To enable automatic copying for new/updated products – set the “New product” and “Update product” options to “Copy to product attribute” in “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools > Product Actions > Automatic actions”.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think.

    Hi @algoritmika,

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve added an attribute ‘EAN’ and wanted to add a test EAN number to a product variation (most products are variatios), but I only can add the attribute to the parent / main product. But I noticed that every variation has some optional fields to enter an EAN code, provided by the Yoast plugin. In my feed manager I do see these fields.

Is it possible to copy all EAN’s to the Yoast EAN fields? That would solve the problem!

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi, @surfsurf11,

I’ve checked the Yoast plugin – please update our plugin to the latest v4.8.3 and try this:

    • To copy all current EANs – run the “Copy EAN to the product meta for all products” tool with the “Meta key” option set to wpseo_global_identifier_values and the “Meta sub key” option set to gtin13 (in “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools > Product Tools > Copy to product meta”).
    • To enable automatic copying for new/updated products – set the “New product” and “Update product” options to “Copy to product meta” in “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools > Product Actions > Automatic actions”.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think.

    Hi @algoritmika,

Thanks for helping out! I’ve tried your suggestion, but unfortunately the EAN is not copied (it says: EAN copied for 0 products (1591 total products).

I noticed in my feed manager that the meta key is different for product variations –> meta_wpseo_variation_global_identifiers_values. I tried to copy it with this meta key, but unfortunately got the same result (0 products copied).

    Do you have another solution?

    cheers,

    Paul

    Hi @algoritmika,

Sorry, I was too fast with my reply. By mistake I used the option ‘meta from’ instead of ‘meta to’. I tried it again and it is working! I only have to run it twice, so once for the single products and once for the variation products:

    wpseo_global_identifier_values
    wpseo_variation_global_identifiers_values

Will this go well with future automatic changes?

    cheers

    Hi, @surfsurf11,

The “Copy to product meta” tool allows a comma-separated list of keys, so please try setting the “Meta key” option there to:

    wpseo_global_identifier_values,wpseo_variation_global_identifiers_values

And the “Meta sub key” option to:

    gtin13,gtin13

Please let me know if that solves the problem.
