Each automatic upgrade by host destroys site(s)
-
This is a .com site but I’ll take any help I can get. Virtually all vendors, Host, say this is a WP multisite issue and they won’t support it
I couldn’t find a topic quite like this. Please read below if you think you can assist with this or these issue(s).
One question I have is why can’t it be mandatory that plugins must either work with multisite or display a warning if they can’t be used with multisite?
This has been an ongoing issue. I am using multisite with Hostgator. Hostgator refuses to support multisite.
They now automatically update WP when a new version is published.
Each time they install WP update/upgrade something catastrophic happens with my website. After last update/upgrade my site would not display at all.
Currently:
As a result of renaming the plugins folder at the behest of hostgator support (at least one of the guys was willing to try) and re-adding plugins one by one, I was able to get this result:
The main website https://www.fullerbiz.com displays ok but it really should be https://www.fullerbiz.com/Internet Tools Tips and Treasures
I wanted to put an Amazon store on https://www.fullerbiz.com (Not sure how to do that now) because I can’t find the (‘folders’? Not sure if that is the correct terminology) for each additional site that I created.
I have 5 additional sites. I cannot access the dashboard for any of them. I get error: you are in a redirect loop.
I think this is a symptom of the problem but I am not sure if it is the real issue.
If I visit the 5 sites I get a weird or skewed looking display on the ones where I was able to install a theme before this started happening. On the others I get what looks like some sort of index file display.
For ex., if you go to https://www.fullerbiz.com/empoweryourself/ You can see that the them is very skewed and not displaying properly.
If you go to https://www.fullerbiz.com/hairloss/ you get the weird looking index file display (not sure if that is what it is – just what it looks like to me)
Here is a list of the sites in question:
https://www.fullerbiz.com/
https://www.fullerbiz.com/herbertduvallphotography/
https://www.fullerbiz.com/empoweryourself/
https://www.fullerbiz.com/hairloss/
https://www.fullerbiz.com/diabetes/
https://www.fullerbiz.com/antiaging/I hope somebody can resolve these issues. If not I am looking for guidance on possible steps to take towards resolution.
Thanks!
Herb
