I used the Healt Check plugin you suggested, but it is unable to activate the yoast plugin in the troubleshoot mode.

I tried to disable all the plugins and change my theme to twenty twenty and activate Yoast, but this time I get this error, and it does not activate:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

We haven’t received similar reports about this kind of error. Can you try reinstalling the latest version of Yoast SEO manually using SFTP / FTP and clearing any cache on your site? There’s a guide to reinstalling the plugin here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/. Just a note: deactivating or deleting the plugin does not delete any of your SEO settings or data from the database.

If that doesn’t help, Sometimes the Health Check plugin isn’t able to activate/deactivate certain plugins, unfortunately. Have you considered setting up a separate staging site to do these tests?

Some hosts have tools available to easily create and set up a copy of your site, so we recommend checking with your hosting provider. If not, you can always use one of the staging or backup/restore plugins on the www.remarpro.com plugin directory.
