E_ERROR when updating plugin

    When applying the latest update (3.21.1) I received the following error on all 4 of my sites:

    An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 140 of the file /home/X/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/simple-tags/inc/class.admin.php.

    Thanks for using TaxoPress. We’ve not had any more reports of this error. Let’s see if we can find what’s going on:

    • Are all these sites hosted on the same server?
    • What PHP version are you running?
    • Which screen do you visit to trigger this error?

    Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, they are all on the same server, Apache Version 2.4.59. Regarding what triggered the error, I was updating the plugin on the plugin page. I had to disable the plugin to recover my sites.

    @brianfb Sorry, not what server version, but what PHP version are you running?

    Sorry forgot to include that I am using PHP 8.2 (ea-php82)

    • Does it help to install an earlier version of the plugin?
    • Can you replicate the issue on another site outside of this server?

    OK, thanks. Let’s continue the process of elimination:

    • Does it help to disable the other plugins on one of those sites?
    • Please do test on a site outside of this server.
